History: The birth of the 7th Order can be traced back to a turbulent period during the organisation of the present-day monastic association of the Celebrants of Mankind. The fracture that would result in the creation of the 7th Order was spawned by a heated argument by then-Head-Curator Wendell Leonard Whindship and a incendiary neophyte upstart named Joseph Cable. Cable disputed adamantly the finner aspects of Celebrant philosophy and challenged the Lead Council openly, decrying their ignorance of the “true meaning of divinity and perfection”. While popular Celebrant dogma encouraged its members to seek evolution and progression through deep contemplation and self-improvement, Joseph Cable proposed to go several steps further using forbidden alchemical philosophy and even the observation of esoteric and occult practices.

His approach created a tremendous scandal within the Celebrants, even resulting in an infamous altercation at the Fulton House Club in 716; two Celebrant affiliates (one belonging to Cable’s growing faction) argued to the point of drawing firearms. The matter was resolved later by a duel near the water canals that ended in both men’s deaths, and signaled the departure of Joseph Cable and his cohorts from the Celebrant of Mankind. Cable would later go into retreat and contemplation and resurface in 720 with his new manifesto entitled Comes the Kingdom of the 7th Chapter, a book meant as a rough guideline to the members of his newly-founded society, the Chapels of the 7th Order. Cable’s notoriety grew with the authorities and his former Celebrant allies, and soon he was forced underground where he eventually assumed the new name of Chaplain Kane, and appointed himself Grand Visionary (leader) of the order.

The 7th Order remained silent for the following two years, occasionally appearing in satirical illustrations in the Paridon Newsbill with Cable depicted as a giant horse’s ass dressed in priest’s garments, preaching to a congregation of rotten apples. Cable would use these humiliations and dismissals of his philosophy to solidify his ranks and draw even more important new members to his cause. On the eve of his promised resurgence into “public society”, Chaplain Kane (Cable) disappeared without a trace, leaving all his belongings and literary works behind. Puzzled by his disappearance, Paridonians simply chose to forget Joseph Cable and his “seditious sect”, and go about their lives. The order was assumed defunct in the absence of their founder, but in truth, it would actually gained true legitimacy and stock in the wake of its supposed dissolution.
